I live in interior Alaska. My lab is 80 pounds. I bought the XL for winter walks when it is extremely cold. Fits her nicely. She has a chest that is a bit broader than the average lab because she is a mixed breed. I went with pink because at $11 it was a steal! Other colors were different prices. Local pet shop carries similar ones for over $50. For the price I paid I was willing to do a little sewing to make it fit well. Don't think I will have to - but I haven't taken it out for a test run yet because it is August.

This is reflective and has a fleece inner lining. But the velcro does not stand up to my energetic dog. It falls off of her as often as it stays on. We only use it when it is really, really cold.

Love these! I bought one each in purple and blue. I wish the larger of the sizes wasn’t so much bigger than the next size down. I’ll have to have my mother in law move/shorten the belly strap, but I would buy again. These are high quality and easy to take on and off. Very easy to clean. These are nice and warm for my old dogs when they go outdoors.

This is a terrific coat. Our puppy outgrew hers and I got a larger size. I would give it 5 stars, except the velcro tab around her tummy is built for a fat or tubby dog, and our puppy is lean. I'll add more velcro to take up the slack, but keep this in mind for lean breeds. She uses a harness with a front martingale ring and it works fine with this coat. Not only has it not wet through, but she looks so cute in the red coat, being a black labradoodle. We were out in a wet snow a few days ago for about 45 minutes and the coat worked better than my coat.

I should start by saying that my dog weighs about 60 pounds, and is about 22 inches from his shoulder to his rump. So, he's right in between a large and an XL according to the specs of this product. I first ordered the large, which I had to return. I could get the size large on him, but overall it was not long enough. The belt hit him around his ribcage rather than his waist, so the velcro ends of the belt overlapped by only an inch. I returned the size large because the belt was straining at his ribcage and it seemed likely to open when he moved around. Then I ordered the size XL. Unfortunately, it was too large for him. Even when I closed the chest velcro as tightly as it would go, it was still way too large, which caused the coat to sit further back on his torso. This meant the belt hit him at the smallest part of his waist, and the velcro belt was too large (not to mention that the belt was in the path of pee stream here.) But I did like the look and feel of the coat, and my buddy loved having it on, so I altered it by shortening the chest flaps with some creative sewing. This solved the fit problem. Overall, I'd say sizing could be an issue with this product. Perhaps there is not much demand for coats to fit dogs the size of my mutt, but I wish there had been a size between large and XL. I like the materials of the coat, and it seems to be very comfortable for my dog. One note about the materials is that the reflective strip wasn't attached very well and the 3 or 4 inches closest to the neck started dangling within the first week of wear.

It's important to measure your dog for this product, as other reviewers have noted. I measured my cattle dog and this coat fits him perfectly! He has plenty of fur, but I purchased this coat in order to afford him protection from the cold rain, wet snow and bone-chilling cold of Ohio winters, as he is an eleven-year-young adoption from South Carolina. There has been no "break-in" time; he's quite comfortable with the coat! I also love the reflectivity of the trim. I've included five photos so prospective purchasers may see how the size "large" coat looks on a 46-pound cattle dog. Included are photos of him "doing his business" both ways, so you may see that he is comfortable and the coat is protecting him very well! I cannot speak for the longevity of the Velcro band under his tummy and the Velcro closure across his chest, but it these begin to wear, they will be easy to replace with fresh Velcro. The seams are well-stitched and the material sheds water. The liner (tag says it's reversible, but I think it should be worn with the water-repellant side out) is soft and nice, too.

I live in New England and needed a coat for my short haired coonhound. She loves to play in the snow so I wanted something that would work with her activity level, and so far this coat has been great! The fleece lining (camo design) is a good weight and helps to keep her warm, and keeps the coat on her back. The Velcro is strong and heavy duty, so it does not pull away from the fabric with lots of use, like some other wimpier Velcro-attached items I have purchased..
It is easy to put on her and take off, and I can put her harness over it once I loosen the harness a bit to accommodate the thickness of the coat.
The only issue I had was the sizing; my dog is a medium in everything else (collars, vests, etc.) but the medium coat was too small, especially around her neck, and did not go far enough down her back. I returned it and got the large, much better sizing and goes all the way to her rump.

This coat fit my greyhound perfectly right out of the bag. It seems well made. Looks warm and water resistant although we haven't tested it in the rain yet. He's a 75 pound male greyhound and the XL was the perfect size.

I have uploaded an image and two videos. On 75 lbs Doberman XL fits very well with some room to spare for a heavier dog that measures 24" neck to rump. Waterproofing is excellent. We spent over an hour in a steady rain and the undergarments were dry. Added warmth seems sufficient even for a colder weather. Dogs were chasing rabbits like crazy and the garments didn't slip off and didn't restrict their movement.

So cute with the reversible sides - what you can't see is the patterned fleece inside. but what I wanted to share was the measurements, see image attached. this will hopefully clear up some of the issues people have been having with the sizing. measure from the base of dogs neck (on back) to tail - and that should be the size you want based on the size chart.
