I bought this skirt for a volunteer trip to the Cook Islands. I had to have skirts to wear to my work place, and they had to cover my knees. I am 5'10" and this just covered my knees. It fit the bill perfectly. I really wish I would have had more of them for this trip. I LOVE it! It was very comfortable to wear. The pockets are great, and very secure. I could wash it out in the sink in the evening and it was dry the next morning, even with the humidity. I didn't have any problems with wrinkles. I bought the everglade color, which was very neutral and went with everything. I will be buying more for my next trip! Highly recommend!

This is an amazing easy to wear skirt. It does run large by a size - if you are on the bubble with sizing it may be 2 sizes. I got a 10 - too big. I got an 8 - sits on the hip a few inches below my waist. I think a 6 would fit me as well -it would just be higher on my waist. It stretches some so its pretty forgiving. For reference - I'm 5'1" 140lbs - my stomach is pretty flat. If yours isn't don't worry - it'll still work. I just love the cut of this skirt. Hits me below the knee. I wear this any given day - super comfy. I think this style with this fabric would look good on anyone.

Very nice skirt. The pockets are great and it does not wrinkle! The only thing I don't like is the sizing, which is really far off. I have worn a 6 or 8 for many years, and I ordered a 4 based on other reviews. It is still a bit too big, I should have ordered a 2. Otherwise a very good purchase.

I bought two of these skirts to go on a cruise, both in size 8. One skirt was slightly larger than the other (maybe 1/2" bigger in the waist) but there's enough stretch in the fabric and flexibility in how high on the waist the skirt rides, that both are fine. I'm an active senior, 5'2", about 133 lb, large waist compared to my hips (a bit straight up and down), and I love how this skirt fits. For those who have a smaller waist, it will ride lower on the hips, but for me it sits comfortably at my waist, and hits about mid-knee - low enough for old lady modesty. There are three pockets, two have snapped flaps and one is zippered. The fabric is sturdy with some "give" to it to make it comfortable.

It has a smooth line with a flare at the bottom. The black one is a crisp black, and the other is an embossed light taupe. The embossed fabric is very subtle and I'd consider it very neutral, easily worn with anything.

I also purchased Royal Robbins zip off pants in size 8 short. They fit very much like the skirts, and are slimmer cut in the legs than most zip offs, less pouchy, and more flattering than older pairs that I own. They are nice enough looking that I'd be comfortable wearing them for more than just hiking. I can't say that for my old zip offs! Royal Robbins sizing has gotten much larger over the years. I have a 20 year old pair of their shorts that also still fit well, and they are size 12.

My only complaint is that it is not a dark black but more of a faded black. When you wear dark colors (OK, mostly black) that's an issue.

This skirt is perfect for travel and great for when you'll be on the dance floor for 4 hours straight. Light weight, breathable material, and POCKETS. Follow their size chart, then order at least one size down, probably more if you wear garments at your waist.

By far, the best skirt I've ever worn! I read the reviews and went one size down to a 2. I'm 5'3" and 115lbs. with a long torso and short legs. This skirt hits right at my knees and at my natural waist, which is high. If you don't like higher-waisted garments, this isn't for you. I love the ruffled hem and how it can be dressed up or down. I didn't want to take it off after I tried it on. The side zip pocket is a plus.

I like this black skirt. It kind of doesn't work as well when you put stuff in the pockets which was why I got it in the first place. I wanted it for travel. I need travel wear that hits below the knee. Modesty is still key for me. 20 hours in a plane, business type settings and not just walking about. If you stand up constantly it knee length. When you sit down, not quite as much. It is wrinkle resistant.

This is one of my go-to summer skirts. It's perfect for everything except a night on the town. Shopping, exploring, being a tourist... The button pocket will hold credit cards or cash but not a phone. The zip pocket is good for the same. It's easy to care for and wash/wear. I've had it for 3 summers and it still looks great.
I'm 5'8" and weigh approx 155 and my height is in my legs... The skirt falls right above the knee, a good length.

I just finished a three week trip to Cambodia (a very hot and humid place!)and I packed three of these skirts in different colors. They are great light weight travel skirts and I wore them for much of the trip. They packed very well, did not need to be ironed, could be easily hand washed and dried very quickly. I bought the black, desert and soapstone skirts and the neutral colors paired well with all sorts of tops and you could throw on a silk scarf or whatever to dress them up. They were great for wearing in a hot humid climate- much cooler than wearing shorts and less "touristy" looking. I climbed around temple ruins in them but I also wore them to meetings, out to dinner, etc. They have some little pockets on the outside that can hold your cell phone, some money, maybe a little camera, etc. if you need to, although I always used a purse.

One thing to be aware of however, is that the sizes run BIG! I had to return them several times to get them to fit right. I'm 5'3" and plump-ish and based on their size chart I ordered a 12, which ended up being way to big for me, as was the 10. The eight fit well, and fell just below my knee cap.

Update Feb 2015: Three years later and I still love these skirts! They look like they did when I bought them. All the positives I said about them in my earlier review still apply. I've had no trouble with shrinking or fading or anything else. I don't put them in the dryer because they dry so fast I just hang them up to dry, so maybe that's why they've held up so well- not sure about that, but whatever the reason, these skirts are great!

I am 5'5", 137-140 pounds with a 31" waist and 40" hips. I ordered both a 4 and a 6 to see which size I would like more.

Although I had to shimmy my hips a tad to get into the size 4, the waist fit better than the size 6, which was a little too loose. I ended up keeping the size 4. I LOVE this skirt. I have 3 colors.

When I went on vacation with my family I could carry my phone, lip gloss and cash all in different very secure and roomy pockets while not feeling like a rumpled tourist. SUPER cute!!
