Welcome back to another episode of “Jane’s cup of Joe”!
If you haven’t heard about this yet, I have talked four of my most-favorite-funny-women-on-the-planet to join me on friday mornings for a brand new talk show called “Jane’s cup o’Joe”. All of us are military wives at different stages of marriage, motherhood, and life – each with a unique sense of humor and a wealth of experiences to share.
One of the things that really helped me as a brand new wife, military spouse, and eventually mom, was to tap into the wealth of knowledge and experience around me in the form of seasoned military spouses. Folks who had been there, done there, bought the T-shirt!
This week our show focused on two high profile commercials sponsored by Jeep and Dodge Ram during the Superbowl.
The Jeep / USO commercial was to promote their new partnership program called Operation Safe Return.
The other commercial we watched was entitled “So God Made a Farmer” sponsored by the Dodge Ram brand was also produced to promote a partnership with the National FFA Organization called “2013, The year of the Farmer”.
The second half of the show focused on Valentine’s day – Love it? Hate it? or All over the map?
I shared these AMAZING Red Velvet Valentine Brownie Bites shared by Miss Betsy of Java Cupcake in our Community this week – truly these not only LOOK amazing, and she made them also look pretty easy to make!
And in closing, we had a brief discussion about using pinterest to share Valentine crafts for our school aged children!

Loved both commercials, like you I was involved in FFA (and 4-H). In fact my super cool cousin works with the national FFA program and had been bursting at the seems trying not to share “The Year of the Farmer” commercial. I know my FB account was lit up in regards to both of the commercials in a positive way and even my friends who grew up knowing nothing about Agriculture made sure to tag me on the comments about what an impact it made on the way they look at farmers…mostly acknowledging that food isn’t something that just magically appears for them anymore.
I would love to hear what you gals have to say about the financial crisis we are facing and the impending cuts and possible changes we may have to see as military families.
