A few weeks ago, we took our visiting family north to visit the White Sands National Monument.

White Sands brings some wonderful memories for me. I am the oldest of three kids and rarley had just me and Mom & Dad time. However, one summer I came home from college when my dad was stationed at Kirtland AFB, NM and we (Mom Dad and I) went down to White Sands. It was the most wonderful day, being 20 years old and yet a total kid at heart! (I totally rolled down a hill of sand and got sand in my ears, mouth, nose… you name it.) Thanks for the walk down memory lane. (Although we were in shorts and sleeves in the heart of summer, as opposed to your jackets and hats).

We’re in ND now, but before that we were in California, and there are SO many state and national parks. We went to as many as we could!

Waiting for pictures of you and the family camping at the Grand Canyon. We loved camping and the kids had so much more fun exploring nature at the campsite instead of being stuck in a hotel.

I love White Sands. While we were still at Kirtland AFB I took a trip down there with the kids. It was so much fun! I hope to visit again… when my kiddos are older and we can have more fun exploring.

We LOVE White Sands!! My favorite is to go in the summer and stick around for the sunset, so gorgeous! One of our favorite things about being stationed here at Ft. Bliss is being within driving distance of so many national parks, we’ve gotten SO much use out of our free park pass!

I used to go as a child to White Sands on our way to Ruidoso NM. I have great childhood memories there!

Goodness, I miss White Sands! My friends and I used to go there on the weekends during college. So many fun memories
