Operation Organize and Jeans that fit

First things first.

Confession: I spent an entire day in our closet/ bathroom.

Yeah – Like, it was my husband’s day off and I said “Babe, I want to be in our room ALL DAY today.”
He kinda smiled at me funny for a minute – Oh really?

I had a 5 second delay…

Then blushing profusely and nearly stuttering…

“No! I-I-I  m-mean!  NO!  I want Y-YOU to take care of the k-kids, like ALL DAY!”
He just laughed and went back to washing dishes.

Turkey.

So - I organized. I purged. I cleaned.

Now for the first time in weeks, I SMILE when I walk in there.

Next – I finally broke down and bought two pairs of blue jeans that fit.

Not after I’ve worn them for 20 minutes.
Not after I let them air dry so they don’t shrink in the dryer.

Like off the shelf, they fit – and I need a belt to hold them up .

And I gotta tell ya – comfy jeans are way more comfortable than uncomfortable ones!
(Is that like a triple comfortable sentence? Grammer police, please ignore.)

One of our ongoing challenges is to keep our spare room organized.

This space is our guest room, computer center, sewing room, and home to all the Army schtuff my husband owns.

It lives in the closet.  Because I say so. Unless he is packing. Then it throws up all over the room.

Today I am going to be hitting my favorite local thrift stores to look for more frames for some of our old family photos and documents. My dad gave me a small collection of family letters written while he was in the Air Force as well as some letters written by my grandfather when he was part of the Army Air Corps during World War II.  It’s funny that although years have passed, men still write home about the same things. Could you send me more socks?  The food isn’t so bad here, but nothing like yours Mom.

The weather here in El Paso still feels like a lingering summer.

Our highs are in the 80s but our nights are cooler with lows to the 50s.

It seems strange for it to be October with no signs of fall color yet, but there have been some fantastic sunrise views lately!

Land of the free, Home of the brave. Does anyone else see an Eagle? #milspouse #sunrise

What is the weather like where you live?  Does anyone else see an eagle in these clouds?

When is the last time you “broke down” and bought a pair of comfy jeans?

Have you discovered the wonder that is Savers yet? It is by far my favorite thrift store in El Paso (and there’s one on the west side and the east side)–I think a thrifting date is in order! :)

I love this post! Your bathroom and closet rock! And I’m super jealous of you finding jeans that fit. I’m right on the line…. Gain weight, I’m the next size up. Loose weight I’m the next size down. Nothing fits. So I live in comfy pants lol :P . and I love the letters!!! Favorite part. Practically made my heart melt. :) I hope all s well with you and your family!!!

Comfy jeans are a MUST! Your bathroom and closet look fabulous :) I just PCS’d (3rd time in 2 years!) so I’m currently in the “I’m doing anything but unpacking and organizing” mode. Just can’t muster the energy…
