Thank you all for the powerful conversation on yesterday’s post.

Goodness I miss watching the sun rise and set in the southwest. There’s truly nothing like it anywhere else in the world. I grew up in Albuquerque, but went to school in Las Cruces, NM. One time my friends and I were driving back to Las Cruces from El Paso and I saw the most gorgeous sunset I’ve ever seen in my life. To this day I still remember how vivid the colors were and how the light literally outlined each cloud and seemed to dance from one color to the next. I was just home visiting last week and I’m already counting the days till I’ll be back again (2 months, 4 weeks and one day).

Sure is a beautiful picture! We just finished canning 14 qts of Bread and Butter Pickles. Tomorrow, we are going to Thunder Mountain Lenape Nation Native American Festival & Pow Wow and on Sunday, we are actually taking time to visit some freinds and family. Life is great!

I do love the idea of using old wooden hangers for jewelry. My grandmother has quite a few, so I am going to refurbish them into Jewelry hangers.

Boy, that is a beautiful sunrise. It sure makes me miss El Paso (where my family’s from) and Alamogordo, NM (where I’d been stationed once upon a time).

I think my favorite thing about my backyard in Alamogordo was the view of the Sacramento Mountains. We didn’t have anything built between our back yard and the mountains, so it was definitely a beautiful sight – probably the “cherry on top” when deciding to buy that particular house. The best thing was that my kitchen windows, the living room, and master bedroom all faced the back yard, so I often looked at that beautiful scenery.

Unfortunately, I’ve got a sick child at home, so our weekend will be spent attempting to make her feel better, while Daddy attends to yard work.
