Making progress and having fun

Military Life, Moving

This weekend I put some of the finishing touches on our boys’ new room.

Can you guess what theme I went with?   (I am so excited to share it with you!)

Seth spent most of his time removing the old metal gate from our back yard…

and creating this beautiful wooden gate from two wood fence panels.
Isn’t he awesome?

I helped by keeping his water bottle filled and volunteering my ample bottom to hold lumber steady for the saw.

And offering completely ignorant advice whenever I felt it necessary.

“Can we have the black metal hinge thingies attached um like on the outside? or would that be too much work?”
“Can we have the wooden thingy across the top be in like a triangle? or would that be too much work?”
“Can we maybe like stain it to show off the pretty wood colors? or would that be too much work?”

Aren’t I awesome too?

We had our first “Rango” sighting… Do you see him?

And we made homemade frozen yogurt in my Kitchen Aid mixer…

I love my mixer. Have I confessed that lately? I think I feel compelled to bake something now…

So how was your weekend?

Do you have big plans for your week?

I’m going to try to tackle our spare room next.  It needs to be a sewing room, a guest room, an office, and the closet has been designated as “the place where all the Army stuff lives”.  Wish me luck!

Awesome gate!! Good luck tackling that room. I have visions of you raiding Pinterest for organizational ideas. Imagine that!

I am guessing the theme for your sons room mite be “Around the World” and I am guessing you have lived in zeveral places or dad has been deployed to several places in various time zones.

Gorgeous gate. I’m with you on the kind of “help” you provide. Where would they be without our creative ideas and where would we be without the “figure out how to get it done” ideas. Isn’t it added fun to make changes to YOUR home?

What an awesome couple you are. Both of you are having fun and at the same time doing best on your work. The wooden gate is robust so you made a good job.

You have a spacious backyard. I could say that you and your husband created a sturdy gate.
