This week, the last of our things were packed for our Unaccompanied Baggage.
It’s basically everything we’ll need to ‘camp’ in our new house while we’re waiting for our larger shipment.
I always send my bins of spare curtains – you never know what kind of windows you’ll end up with!
And after much deliberating, I decided it was time to say my “See you Soon” to Mr. Hamilton Beech.
NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! DON’T DO IT!!!!!!
I figure I’ll just rely on the most wonderfullest neighbors in the whole wide world for a week.
And I say that with complete and utter sincerity.
Because they are the wonderfullest neighbors.
Oh yes they are.
The only thing left besides our clothes are a table cloth, the dinner bell, and our wedding cake topper…
How do you decide what to put in your ‘first box’ during a move?
What are the little things that help make your family still feel at home when everything is packed?

Hey! This post could not be written any better! Reading through this post reminds me of my previous room mate! He always kept chatting about this. I will forward this write-up to him. Fairly certain he will have a good read. Many thanks for sharing!

Aww, I have the same figurine! Though we didn’t use it as a cake topper.
Good idea with the curtains..I will remember that for when we move. One of our must-haves is a portable DVD player or a laptop. Hubby needs his tv time. Lol

LOL about the coffee maker.
I just got for Mother’s Day my dream coffee maker, the Keurig. I told my hubby I was happy to get it, but sad that I know it’s going to be packed up in a few months! And very cute cake topper!
We’ve had our laptops (for games & movies) in the past, but in preparation for our move this fall, hubby splurged and got the iPad for him and 2 iPod touch’s for our kids so they can play all sorts of games. I still have my trusty laptop, but I might trade it in for an iPod one day. Plus we keep a card game, right now Monopoly Deal, to pass the time.
p.s. GREAT idea about the curtains! I’m keeping that in mind for our upcoming move!

We said goodbye to our stuff last Wensday. Everything was packed to go apart from 10 tops each, 5 pairs of pants, underwear, socks, sun hats shoes and sandals each (oh and older 2 boys school bags.) We have a month and a half with this stuff.
Must be said as we are on a oversea’s Canadian posting, our stuff from Germany was packed away in storage ready for when we land in Uk. We have Army fruniture as terrible as it is to keep us for the 2 years. I may actually do a wipe around with the camera and show my Pre-marched out house full of army stuff. Next blog I think

That is so sweet the Cake topper, I don’t even thing we have ours anymore. It was a a modern style of a man and woman whose arms made hearts.

All of your boxes are really full even if these are the last things you have in your home.
