I have been a member of an amazing photography group called Shop Talk for more than a year now. My dear friend Kim Kravitz who started it, (you may remember those ah- may – zing Welcome Home photos she took for us?) is one of those fantabulous professionals who both rocks her camera AND is always willing to help others on their journey to learn.
I love people like that!
Which brings me to the reason why this blog post is a little later than usual! Kim set up a lunch with a few other military spouse photographers from our local area! Left to right is Jess from Jess Renee Photography, then Misty from Dreampics (her little girl is behind my head OOPS!) and Margaret from MPH Photography.
That’s Kim next to me in the front holding the cutest-red-wallet-in-the-world that almost fell into my purse.
Don’t worry – I totally made sure it went home with her – even though it clearly didn’t want to.
Here is the Cantina Mexican Resturant in Kaiserslautern. It’s very kinda easy to miss. Being so plain and all.
I had an enchilada. I really liked it alota.
Meeting spouses from other duty stations who share a common love for photography was so refreshing. Not once did rank become the center of our conversations. We are all wives, mothers, and professionals… Women who are making our way through life and learning to laugh along the way. I can’t wait to meet up again! (photo below borrowed from Kim Kravitz Instagram.)
Have you ever planned a lunch for a group of friends who had never met before?
And for my readers here in Germany – would you be interested in joining us next time?

Brings back memories! A gathering like that resulted in my first Dare to Dream Team…and with every military move I’d instigate a similar gathering at a cafe or restaurant with like-minded women wanting to work towards our dreams. Sounds like you have a photography Dare to Dream Team in the making:) My groups are what always kept me going, kept me laughing, kept me sane…and helped celebrate successes! (and yes, with our 20th move, I started another group here.)
If you want to know how to start one and keep it going, we have a chapter in our Help! I’m a Military Spouse Book (2d Ed.)…likely at your post library or on Amazon. AND a free handout at our militaryspousehelp.com website. As my coauthor/copresenter Holly always says “If you were meant to do this life by yourself you would have been put on this earth by yourself. and you weren’t!”

Farewell makes me cry, but links with old friends and stuff is the best moment I experience for the rest of my life… There’s nothing I can wish for with in bringing back the good memories we share for several years…

If I would look at the pictures, I would say that you’ve been friends for a long time. Seems like you’re enjoying each others company. Thanks for sharing this…
