In a quiet corner of my living room, there is a stack of handsome old suitcases.
I wish they could tell me the stories of their travels.
Where they have been and the stories of the people they traveled with.
After cleaning a thick layer of dust from what was perhaps many years spent in the attic or a closet -
I have given them a very important purpose – like hiding the Easter Bunny’s secret stash of eggs.
A selection of fall scented candles and pillow cases to welcome the harvest season.
A red berry wreath that I use for patriotic holidays.
And bright colored Valentine heart decor to break up the February ‘late winter blues’…
Where do you store your holiday decorations?
Do you have any creative suggestions for storage in your living space?

I adore your suitcases! Cute. Cute. Cute.
I just did a post about how military women decorate and I mentioned how it is important for us in our storage of deocor items to be artistic, beautifing and cleaver! I think this fits the bill perfectly, Anne Marie.
Yes, I wish I knew the stories those suitcases could tell us.
Blessings.

Love it and I know what you mean, funny my post today was from photos I had taken Pielshofen, I just wish at times I could touch the buildings and see just one moment from time.
*sighs* but I love what you’ve done with these, you’ve got MAD junkin’ skills!

WOW! What a wonderful and perfect idea! Especially for smaller spaces (with little or no storage). I am going to keep this in mind – seeing as we are planning to move next year and I don’t know what kind of living space I’ll end up having: little/big: we don’t know! Thanks for sharing!!!

Great idea! I just saw a pile of these babies at a garage sale last weekend. I was tempted, but didn’t get them b/c of space constraints.

What an awesome & practical idea! I’m not normally a garage-saler or Goodwill shopper, but you can bet I’ll think twice next time I see an old suitcase & wonder how I can put it to good use! Thanks for sharing!
