In his vintage VW ice cream truck,
this man is known by everyone in our small town.
Here is a picture from the summer of 2008 – Jacob was two years old.
I remember he was always kind enough to share an extra sugar cone for Baby William. (2008)
Our boys love running outside to wave him to a stop and order their own ice cream cones. (2010)
Here is Maggie last summer after her first taste of Lemon… (2010)
Hearing the familiar sound of his ice cream jingle signals the beginning of summer.
For me, it is a mental milestone – another season closer to Seth coming home.
So yesterday when we heard his familiar bell,
we ran outside in bare feet to have one of the first ice cream cones of the summer.
He also asked me to tell my husband – Hey! You and your guys be safe!
Do you have a neighborhood ice cream truck?
What is your favorite flavor?

This is such a huge part of my memories of my time spent in Baumholder. If I could ever replicate this taste, I would be happy for the rest of my life. The lemon ice cream was really really good.
