Confession : I don’t like messy crafts… especially things involving paint…
But when I saw this craft in my Family Fun Magazine – I decided to try it…
And even though the whole paint + two boys
usually = what was I thinking this is a HUGE MESS!!!
This craft really seemed to work well…
Maybe it was because I laid it all out during nap time…
(because I’m always prepared like that… no REALLY… *ahem*)
And after much smashing and smearing…
We had some lovely fall trees decorating the hallway…
(Pardon me while I go breath in a paper bag now…)
What fall crafts have you tackled with your kids this week?

How cool! I'd like to say that I have sponges around here to do that, but wouldn't that mean that I purchased them for the original intent of cleaning????? LOL. At Chapel 2, I made a Thanksgiving tree for the bulletin board. Each child in CCD/Sunday school wrote one item for which they were thankful and I stapled them on the board. Colorful, simple, and simply grateful

You made me smile about breathing in the paper bag! Good for you for facing the possible mess!
I know what you mean. I'm not a fan of painting either. And usually the kids 'paint' about a minute and then I have to spend an hour cleaning up after them.

They did a good job and good for you for giving them the time and space to be creative and messy.

awesome tackle! When you were talking about messy crafts it brought me back to a craft I did during my first year of teaching 2nd grade: homemade bird feeders (using pine cones, peanut butter & bird seed)… The janitor loved me

We did tree rubbings super easy. Tape paper on tree trunk and rub with a crayon. You are a super hero to let them paint. Mine always want to paint maybe we brave it:)
