Our first house

Military Life, Moving

Like many women who marry a military man, I have two wedding anniversaries… To be approved for family housing, the military requires a marriage certificate…. So we got married twice! November 24, 2005 we were legally married in a Covered Bridge near Lancaster, Pennsylvania. December 31, 2005 we were married under God in a Chapel at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri.

And here is my flashback… a picture of our first night together in our new home… on 94 Hatler Street…

What you see is the packed contents of my apartment -
all of which fit inside a 10 foot UHaul trailer and the bed of my pickup…

When we moved here to Germany 18 months ago, we brought 6 large crates of stuff. These crates were 8 feet tall, maybe 8 feet wide, and 10 feet deep. The military estimated the weight to be about 8,000 pounds. So after 5 years of marriage this December, we added 3 kids, about 5 trailers of stuff, and lots n lots of memories!

What did your first home look like?

Great picture! We're military, too. We're in Sicily for about 5 more months. We came here with 3 crates, including my husband's motorcycle. I think we'll be leaving with about 8!
